CLARTE is a research center located in Laval, France. It specializes in Virtual Reality solutions and research projects for companies. The center covers three major research fields: computer graphics, human-machine interaction and multiprocessor real-time computing.
An estimated 8,400 Egyptian children develop cancer per year. Until recently, 40% of them died due to a lack of proper treatment. In an attempt to increase survival rates, the Association of Friends of the National Cancer Institute (AFNCI) set up a state-of-the-art Children’s Cancer Hospital (CCH) in Cairo. The 180-bed hospital, which is entirely funded by donations, provides free first-class treatment for approximately 1,500 children every year.
Thirty years after legendary ‘80s rock band Pink Floyd’s famous “The Wall” show, producers of Roger Waters' current worldwide concert tour set out to authentically reproduce an exact replica for a new generation. A major challenge was to fabricate “the wall” each night, brick-by-brick in sync with the video projection - a laborious, yet essential task to maintain the integrity of the projections which display rotating scenery, dynamic backdrops and optical illusions.
Every year, the KINO convention takes place in the Baden Baden congress center, Germany. This time, Barco is the exclusive technology partner for this high profile event and supplied two DP2K-20C digital cinema projectors for the 2D and 3D screenings.
Barco has entered into an agreement with leading technology distributor Tech Data to market and distribute its clinical review displays within the Nordic market. Barco will begin distribution of its product through Tech Data this month. The agreement will enable Barco to substantially expand its market reach and distribute its products via a large and experienced reseller network in the Nordic region.
At this year’s Sea Air Space, Barco will demonstrate its recently expanded array of products focused on enhancing situational awareness in defense programs using the latest C4ISR tools. A highlight of the show will be a live demonstration of Barco’s HD-30 with multi-touch capability, its recently optimized distributed visualization platform featuring a unique human machine interface (HMI) for improved control, display and sharing of video, graphics and data.
Barco entered the red dot design competition with the OL-521, a 50" LED-lit rear-projection display cube for fixed video wall installations, and convinced an international jury with the OL's highly innovative features.
The brand new ACL Live at The Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, is opening to rave reviews, hosting a unique mix of musical acts from Willie Nelson to Devo. Illuminating the stage for performers is a combination of Barco’s creative LED and High End Systems’ automated lighting fixtures, industry-leading media servers and lighting controllers, all used to create spectacular effects.
In 2008, Reliance Petroleum, a subsidiary of India’s largest private sector enterprise, Reliance Industries Limited, commissioned Reliance’s second crude oil refinery, thereby catapulting the company into the premier league of the world’s largest refineries.
Earlier this month, Reed Exhibitions Ltd and Asian Aviation magazine, joint organizers of the Aviation Awards Asia, honored the winners of the 2011 Awards. Airways New Zealand took home the award in the category Technology & Environment.
The program celebrates and recognizes champions in the Asian aviation industry, promoting best practices and providing a platform for the industry to assess trends and develop strategies for the future. The award for Airways New Zealand acknowledged their efforts in developing new procedures and technology to reduce aviation’s environmental footprint. One of these technologies was developed in cooperation with Barco.
