Our compact DP2K-10Sx, which was specially designed with smaller theaters and arthouse- and independent cinemas in mind, had its first intensive live test at the 2013 Berlin International Film Festival. It did such a great job there that we wanted to capture the story of the DP2K-10Sx at the Berlinale in a must-see video.

Barco partner Visualsupport can look back with pride on two highly successful performances in Poland, both of which perfectly combined the world of music and images. Two Barco HDQ-2K40 high-brightness projectors ensured an amazing video mapping projection in Opole, Poland, for the 50th anniversary of the National Festival of Polish Song. A little further south, in Cracow, our DP2K-32B digital cinema projector brought classical music to life on a cinema screen during the closing night of the Screen & Sound Festival.

Global visualization pioneer Barco will exhibit its full portfolio of projector products, together with various industry applications, at InfoComm China 2013, to be held at the National Conference Center in Beijing from 10th to 12th April.

Post production specialists can now enjoy an enhanced 4K workflow thanks to industry leaders coming together to create a 4K Digital Intermediate (DI) Suite on display at this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barco’s new DP4K-P post production projector will be part of an integrated platform utilizing the Qube Cinema Xi 4K IMB with Quad 3G inputs and Quantel’s Pablo Rio with new 4K output, which when combined, facilitates a true 4K workflow. The system will be used to grade and show content shot on Canon’s EOS C500 4K digital cinema camera.

Today, Barco LiveDots welcomed a new member to its renowned C-series LED display family. The C8 outdoor LED display shares its high-class image processing, flexible software and easy-to-use peripherals with the other C-series LED displays but provides an 8.33 mm pixel pitch and 5,000 nits brightness.

From 11 to 14 March, Barco held its very first International Partner Meeting. Connect! 2013 took place on the island of Malta and saw global partners for both Barco and projectiondesign gathered for a few days of interactive workshops.

Independent movie fans got a glimpse of the “Cinema of the Future" at Sundance Film Festival, witnessing first-hand how video projection mapping can enhance the entertainment “wow” factor of cinema – outdoors! Barco supported the Festival’s presentation of a unique 3D projection mapping show with its HDX-W18 large-venue projectors, delivering the ultra-brightness, high reliability and simple, seamless operation needed to present the show in its best light.
