Yesterday was the first show day of PLASA London 2013, a key event for entertainment technology professionals. PLASA organizes demos, seminars, and a trade fair to support and promote research and development in the AV and lighting industry. Until Wednesday, Barco will be one of the exhibitors at ExCeL London.

Barco supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

A press conference in Brussels last week marked the launch of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Belgium. Barco was present as a dedicated sponsor of the initiative. Every year in October, a collective consisting of public service organizations, governmental bodies and professional healthcare associations coordinates the international Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. With a pink ribbon as its symbol, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the disease.

A visit to Esko’s virtual supermarket at Labelexpo 2013

Ever been shopping in a virtual supermarket? Visitors to last week’s Labelexpo Europe 2013, at the Brussels Expo (Belgium), have! They were invited to a fully immersive shopping experience at the booth of HP Indigo, where HP, Sharp Iris and Esko had set up a large Barco 3D OLS-721 stereoscopic video wall. The objective: demonstrate how 3D imaging can help packaging professionals see how their product will look in a real store, without creating physical mock-ups.
