Today, at Integrated Systems Europe, Barco unveiled the HDX-W14 projector for the events market. The HDX's design integrates our expertise in 3D, our intimate knowledge of the events market and our successes in the field of image processing.

Barco’s new range of LED backlit LCD displays combines the benefits of liquid crystal technology with energy-efficient LED backlights to reduce image burn-in and colorations. This makes the new LED-lit LCD displays perfectly suited for long-term usage.

Barco digital cinema projectors are once again front and center stage at the annual Sundance Film Festival, held in and around Park City, Utah this month. Widely considered the premier platform for American and international independent film, the Festival has introduced audiences to some of the most original stories of the last three decades.

The dark winter nights are the ideal setting for dazzling light art installations. France based company Spectaculaires have a solid reputation for creating mind-blowing facade projection shows. In the winter of 2010, they were present in cities like Rennes, Caen and Annecy.

Barco is an official partner of the 61^st Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). Every year, this prestigious event attracts over 20.000 professionals and 300.000 visitors - from over 100 countries. This year's edition takes place from 10 - 20 February in various cinemas throughout Berlin.

Only one of today’s world-renowned musical artists can claim they launched their career on YouTube: teen pop star Justin Bieber. The video sharing site quickly catapulted him to fame, resulting in a smash hit CD in 2009 followed by a worldwide tour. Barco joined the party to bring Bieber up close and personal with Barco FLM R12+ projectors for IMAG and more.

Seventeen Barco projectors will be used in high-profile spaces at the Museum of the Moving Image’s new exhibit space in Astoria, New York, USA, including a 50-foot-long seamless projection wall in the lobby, the new Video Screening Amphitheater, a new 68-seat screening room, and in the inaugural exhibition “Real Virtuality.”

72 million, that is the astounding number of items that Deutsche Post, Germany’s provider of postal services, delivers each day, six days a week. Since 2003, the strategy and activities of Deutsche Post DHL have been managed at the Post Tower in Bonn, an impressive 40-storey building of steel and glass. To upgrade the security for the Tower and the adjacent campus, Deutsche Post recently set up a brand-new control room. As for the video wall, it was a world-first: Barco installed its very first LED-lit, rear-projection video wall. It soon proved to be the eco-friendly, easily maintainable wall Deutsche Post DHL was looking for.

The first 3D digital cinema onboard a new cruise ship debuted last month when the Allure of the Seas was launched in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. The largest cruise ship in the world boasts dozens of Barco/High End Systems products in several entertainment venues from stem to stern. Barco partnered with FUNA International, a leading cruise ship multimedia design, engineering and integration company, to create the dazzling lighting and projections to enhance theatrical, water acrobatics, and ice skating shows.
