Thousands of the world’s lighting industry professionals landed in Las Vegas last week to attend “LDI,” the industry’s largest worldwide exhibition, now in its 21st year.  Many had the opportunity to experience hands-on demos of the eagerly-anticipated intellaspot XT-1, in addition to the powerful array of products on hand at the Barco/High End Systems booth.

Barco’s DPM-3 computer is used for on-the-move operations and in space-constrained areas of the utility vehicle, helicopter or ground army vehicle. The highly compact DPM-3 features the latest graphics and computing power and is fully MIL-qualified. The new DPM-3 has been launched at the AUSA exhibition in Washington together with the MR series for audio and video recording.

Barco has released a new 24-inch wide-screen clinical review display for viewing diagnostic images and clinical information consistently and accurately. The new Barco MDRC-2124 has been specifically designed for use at the point of care. Thanks to its 24" wide-screen, the display allows users to visualize more content on a single screen than they would with a traditional 4:3 display monitor.

Spanish architect and artist Pablo Valbuena created a breath-taking light projection for the Almost Cinema exhibition in Ghent, Belgium. The project, titled N 51°2’50” E3°43’42”, is part of his famous ‘Urban Installation’ series.

Barco has extended its offering of Digital Cinema projectors with a new DLP Cinema^® Enhanced 4K projector model. The new Barco 4K projector complements the company’s current 2K projector offering, and will become commercially available in early 2011.

Barco is once again taking to the skies, this time onboard the new E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the US Navy’s carrier-based airborne early warning and battle management command and control system.  The first Navy squadron to operate the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE TWO ZERO (VAW-120), also known as the “Greyhawks.” As the Navy's Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), the "Greyhawks" train pilots and naval flight officers to fly the aircraft and operate the systems before assignment to an operational flight squadron.
