Challenge: Product engineers at Ford's new Product Visualization Center in Dearborn, Michigan needed to streamline product development efforts. Challenges included improving prototypes, reducing development costs, and accelerating time to market. Solution: Barco implemented an immersive, four-sided I-Space environment. This solution allows Ford engineers and designers to see and interact with three-dimensional CAD models of vehicles and components at full scale. Why Barco: Barco’s I-Space reduces Ford’s need to produce physical prototypes, saving both time and money in the development process. “Our new Product Visualization Center represents the next step in advancing automotive designs and differentiating our brand in the marketplace,” says Bob Coury, Ford Core Vehicle Architecture supervisor. “Barco's I-Space will be critical in our development efforts to deliver quality products at the right times and ahead of the competition."
