Barco wins Assam Rifles' trust and provides its 3D projection solution

The Assam Rifles is the oldest Para Military Force in India; rather the only paramilitary Force in strictest sense of the term. It traces its genesis back to 1835, when it was raised as a semi-military force and known as The Cachar Levy. The Assam Rifles have managed to transform pre-historic animistic societies of the Northeast from the stone-age to space-age in three or four generations flat.
Recently they set up a new auditorium and want to have state of art facility in the same with a 3D projection system and they teamed up with Barco – the market-leading brand of digital cinema projectors. The Assam Rifles celebrated it's 175th anniversary on 24th Mar 2010 and on this day the auditorium with Barco 3D projection was inaugurated.

This is Barco's first ever 3D installation for the Indian defense in digital cinema space and also is symbolic of not just our foray in this segment but also how extensively Barco's solutions can be used in different applications.

“We had used Barco products earlier and saw some Barco products in an exhibition recently. We felt that the company's products could meet our needs and were apt for us. Hence we went ahead and purchased” said Col Ashwin Dev from Assam Rifles.

Barco won the contract, thanks to its leading reputation as a high-quality reference standard in the display and visualization industry. “As we are a quality-conscious, only a world-class projector would do so we selected Barco's projector for the 3D projection in our auditorium. Barco is a landmark name” added Col Ashwin Dev from Assam Rifles.
