Cathedral of Santiago: 3D projection mapping show

Production and design company GPD (General de Producciones y Diseño) staged a spectacular 4D multimedia show for the St. James Day Celebration in July 2011. The company created a brand-new technology show combining light, sound, music, fireworks and special effects to achieve a mapped, warped 4D effect. The Cathedral's baroque façade was turned into a giant screen recounting St. James' life story in a virtual tour of the Cathedral interior. This is the first ever video-mapping on a façade of its kind anywhere worldwide, a totally unique mapped show screening technique combining 16 projectors totaling 350,000 lumens light output. The visual impact, the combination of more than 50,000 watts of sound and 4,200 fireworks being set off all made this a unique event attended by more than 100,000 people.
