Light.Move.Festival 2013

A kaleidoscope of colors and shapes

The Festival of Kinetic Art - Light.Move.Festival in the Polish city of Łódź was launched in 2011 to promote its cultural heritage through a variety of activities involving light as a medium. From large format video projects and lighting installations through to architectural-artistic illuminations, shows, shadow plays and live pictures: the most diverse set-ups are created to let inhabitants and tourists discover the value of the public space, in an alternative setting.

Visualsupport has been a proud contributor to the festival for two years now. With the technical support of Barco projectors. When the Festival management asked them to design an eye-catching video projection mapping for the 2012 edition, Visualsupport purchased its very first Barco projector: the then-new HDX-W18. In the meantime, extra HDX- and HDQ-2K40 projectors have been added to the rental stock. Which came in very handy for the 2013 Light.Move.Festival.

“After our successful projects in 2012, we were invited to create the 3D animation for the video mapping shows and provide the multimedia devices and technical support for the 2013 Festival,” said Magdalena Groblicka, director of sales and marketing. “Barco’s reliable and professional HDQ-2K40 projector was the perfect fit.”

Visualsupport helped bring to life a spectacular 3D video mapping on the facade of the Holy Spirit Church, accompanied by the distinguished sounds of the organ playing Toccata in D-minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. In addition, it took viewers on an extraordinary journey through the history of Lodz’s architecture, by projecting a story of history and the present onto the monumental Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography. Both video projection mappings truly delighted the crowds. You’ll appreciate why on watching the videos of the mapping on the Holy Spirit Church and on the Museum!
