Tata SKY

A visionary approach to home entertainment

When it comes to watching the latest TV series and movies in the highest possible quality right from the comfort of your own couch, Indian families need look no further than direct-to-home satellite television service provider Tata Sky. Established in 2004, this joint venture between Tata Sons and 21st Century Fox is committed to revolutionizing home entertainment in India with superior digital quality picture and sound, available at all times. To fulfill this promise, the company recently installed a brand-new Barco video wall solution in its control room, for 24/7 channel monitoring.

To this end, the company is equipped with a state-of-the-art control room with a large video wall. From the very beginning, Tata Sky has relied on Barco technology. “We started out with the CDG-80, which was later upgraded to the OVL-815,” explains Yigit Reza, CTO at Tata Sky Ltd. “Recently, this solution—which is still doing a terrifi c job—has been moved to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site, so we needed a new video wall. Since we’ve always been very satisfi ed with Barco, we decided to stick with them.”
