Burgos Cathedral, Spain

Projecting ‘the four seasons’ at a World Heritage Site

Built in the 13th century, the cathedral in the Spanish city of Burgos was named ‘World Heritage Site’ by the UNESCO in the eighties. While having been being known for its vast size and unique architecture for centuries, the Cathedral of Saint Mary was even more spectacular on 17 May and 28 June 2014, as Christian Gimat created a superb projection mapping for the seventh ‘Noche Blanca of Burgos’ cultural festival.

Produced by Adlib Créations, ‘The Enchanting Cathedral and the seasons’, as the projection mapping was called, took spectators through the history of this monumental building, against the background of the four different seasons. From a radiating summer sun, autumn leaves and winter snow through to the spring butterflies: the projection mapping surprised and amazed spectators from the beginning to the end because of its great images, in bright colors. And here’s where Barco came in: our French rental partner Abaques Audiovisual, audiovisual integrator and provider for events, delivered two bright HDF-W26 and two HDX-W20 projectors to tell the story of the cathedral, down the years. Have a look how they did: admire the Burgos cathedral, in all its seasonal colors in this video:
