When Real Madrid goes pink, Barco helps spread the news
Sports brand Adidas seems to love projection mapping … and Barco projectors. Remember how 20 of our FLM HD-20 projectors powered the projection mapping for the Brazuca World Cup ball, in Rio de Janeiro? Well, in June 2014, at the dawn of that very same Brazilian World Cup, Barco was proud to help Adidas and Real Madrid unveil the brand-new jerseys and shorts for the 2014-2015 season, in another astounding projection mapping show.
Bold move, spectacular disclosure
To celebrate the successful 2013–2014 season for the Spanish club, Adidas and Real Madrid came up with one of their most spectacular – and controversial – kits to date: while the main shirts and shorts have the classic and prevalent white all over their design, the team will be wearing pink for away games – a first in 112 years of club history. The bold move deserved a spectacular disclosure, so Adidas and Real Madrid decided to present the new strip directly to the Real Madrid fans, through a projection mapping at the stadium.
Covering the stadium facade
Creative experts Grey Spain and Producciones Light Project designed a spectacular video mapping show, featuring futuristic images as well as Madrid players, for the main facade of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. AV rental partner BNC Montajes Audiovisuales delivered ten HDQ-2K40 projectors to make the images come to life. The end result was a more than impressive mapping, one of the largest ones ever displayed in Spain, that truly swept away all spectators.
Exceptionally high brightness
BNC Montajes Audiovisuales was the very first AV expert in Spain to showcase the power and brightness of our HDQ-2K40 projectors, during the 2013 Lux Greco projection mapping project of the city of Toledo. “The HDQ-2K40 raised the bar, offering exceptionally high brightness levels. We knew it would be a reliable projector too, backed up by full technical support from Barco in Spain and in Belgium,” said BNC’s Francisco Borja Gonzalez Lopez, on that occasion. Everyone who was there, at the Real Madrid stadium, will definitely share his enthusiasm.
