BARCO Display Systems Selected for Dassault Electronique’s EWR-99/FRUIT Radar Warning Receiver
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, July 1st, 1997 -- BARCO Display Systems has been selected by the French Army for the supply of a significant number of Monochrome Circular Head Down Displays MHDD 3.3 for the integration into Dassault Electronique’s EWR-99/Fruit Radar Warning Receiver.
The EWR-99/Fruit, which is a new generation Radar Warning Receiver, has been ordered by the French Army Aviation ALAT (Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre) for its fleet of combat and transport helicopters. The EWR-99/Fruit RWR, using BARCO’s MHDD 3.3, is a combat-proven system, already in service on the French Armed Forces PUMA and GAZELLE helicopters. Dassault Electronique’s System is capable of detecting all types of signals, and provides a clear identification of all threats, even in very dense environments.
In 1995, Dassault Electronique, a long-time customer of BARCO’s, already delivered EWR-99/Fruit RWRs with BARCO MHDD 3.3. for an urgent requirement under which the equipment was installed on French helicopters being deployed to Bosnia. Dassault also selected the BARCO MHDD 3.3 for the CARAPACE Electronic Warfare System of the Belgian Airforce F-16 Fighting Falcons
