Barco-equipped Ilyushin IL-114-100 airliner winds up certification campaign
MAKS Airshow, Zhukovsky, Russia, 21 August 2007 - Ilyushin’s new IL-114-100 airliner, equipped with a state-of-the-art Barco glass cockpit solution, is approaching the end of its certification flight campaign. The 64-seat turboprop airliner is expected to enter commercial service with Uzbekistan Airlines before the end of the year. For avionics display provider Barco, the IL-114-100 marks a new full-cockpit project on the important Russian market.
"We are very pleased with the realization of this state-of-the-art Electronic Flight Instrument System on the Ilyushin IL-114-100 passenger aircraft," said General Manager of Barco's Avionics Division Yves Vanhauwaert. "This project is another important step forward for us on the civil aerospace market in Russia, a key market for our business."The twin-engine IL-114-100 features a state-of-the-art glass cockpit solution, integrating high-grade Barco displays and application software developed by the National Institute of Aircraft Equipment NIIAO. The cockpit suite includes five modern Multi-Function Displays (MFD) featuring sunlight-readable 6" x 8" screens. Aboard the IL-114-100, the units perform as Primary Flight Displays, Navigation Displays, Warning Displays and System Multi-Function Displays.
Also on board the IL-114-100 are two compact, lightweight Control Display and Management Systems (CDMS). Thanks to their innovative new design, the CDMS units deliver excellent reliability and a low life cycle cost, even in harsh operating environments.

Barco’s new glass cockpit for the IL-114-100 is being demonstrated at MAKS Airshow, in hall H, stand 4-15. To date, at least ten aircraft have been ordered with the Tashkent Aircraft Production Corporation.
