Barco has been contracted to provide advanced avionics technology for the F-35 Panoramic Cockpit Display (PCD).
Barco will join the International Integrated Product Development Team (I-IPDT) that will develop, qualify and manufacture the high-resolution, high-brightness, night vision-compatible 20”x 8” active matrix liquid crystal display along with a highly redundant display management computer.
The PCD will provide pilot control and display for the major functions of the F-35 aircraft, including flight displays, sensor displays, communication, radio and navigation systems and identification systems.
