Czech national Integrated Air Traffic Control Center (IATCC)
Case study
Enhancing air traffic control operations
Since its conception in 1995, the ANS is faced today with three times more air traffic over the Czech Republic. In order to cope with the continuous increase of air traffic, ANS started with the plans for a new air traffic control center in Jenec, near Prague, in 2001.
The construction of the new national Integrated Air Traffic Control Center (IATCC) was finished in 2005. The center, which provides approach control as well as area control services, became fully operational in 2007, and is expected to meet the operational needs for the next 30 years. Barco's visualization technology was chosen both for the technical supervision department as well as for the actual ATC control center. Both display solutions have been successfully installed by long-term integration partner Nowatron Elektronik spol. s.r.o.
