Eight new facilities select Barco as their supplier of choice in January 2004

Logan, UT – February 16, 2004 – Barco Media is pleased to announce that it was selected as the vendor of choice for eight new projects in January 2004. These installations will use a combination of LED video displays and scoreboards to enhance advertising, fan interaction, and scoring capabilities in their facilities. Receipt of these contracts confirms Barco’s expertise in the increasingly competitive U.S. sports market.

Mississippi State University selected Barco to install both a custom baseball scoreboard and a basketball scoreboard. The baseball scoreboard, which includes an Slite 14 outdoor LED video display, LED digit scoreboard, and advertising panels, will be installed this spring in time for the 2004 baseball season. The four-sided basketball scoreboard will be installed this summer in time for the 2004 basketball season.

Barco was chosen to install an indoor hockey/basketball scoring system in the new Glen Falls Events Center. The scoring system will include a four-sided, center-hung scoreboard with 22mm full-color and monochrome message centers, two auxiliary scoreboards, shots-on-goal displays, locker room clocks, shot/game clocks, and basketball and hockey goal lights. The integrated scoreboard system will be operational for both events in February 2004.

KUTV Channel 2, a CBS affiliate, is installing a DLite 7 outdoor LED video display outside their broadcasting facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. The video display will be used to broadcast headline news, advertisements, and trailers for important events. Installation for this project will be completed in February 2004.

The Montgomery Biscuits chose Barco to add an 1.7” amber outdoor LED marquee to their scoring/advertising system. The 5’ x 10’ marquee will be used for event information and advertising. The marquee will be completed in April 2004. same comment

The Scranton Red Barons minor league baseball team selected Barco to install a 4’ x 30’ outdoor LED digit scoreboard and a pitch speed display. The scoreboard will enhance the existing park and provide advertisements as well as scoring. This project will be completed in April 2004.

Oklahoma State University chose Barco to install a custom outdoor LED digit scoreboard for the Cowboys baseball team. The scoreboard will include illuminated advertising panels, a baseball scoreboard and an amber LED display. Installation will be completed in March 2004.

University of Texas (Austin) purchased an Arena football upgrade for their existing four-sided, center-hung scoreboard. Barco installed the custom scoreboard in December 2003. The arena football upgrade will allow operators to score arena football in the Frank Erwin Center. The upgrade will be completed in February 2004.

San Francisco Giants selected Barco to completely upgrade their control system. This upgrade includes a completely new hardware and software system. The upgrade will increase the runtime and minimize recovery time of the control system. A new mirroring software package will be installed to provide the necessary redundancy in case of emergency situations. Installation of the new control system will be completed in February 2004.
