Reuters

Case study

Driving decision making across the globe
Founded in London in 1851, and with around 330,000 professional users, Reuters is a global information company providing indispensable information tailored for professionals in the financial services, media and corporate markets. Their information is trusted and drives decision making across the globe.

Reuters is truly the world's largest international multimedia news agency and serves approximately 130 countries.

Barco has supplied the visual display in the TV Master Control Room (MCR). The MCR is considered the technological nerve center of the whole TV operation, and monitors video material as it comes in and stores it ready for editing before it is re-purposed and sent out.

In the MCR Barco has supplied three fDR+70-DL cubes that have integrated DLP™ technology with SXGA+ resolution.
The OverView fDR+70-DL is a front accessible rear-projection system with the cutting edge DLP™ technology and SXGA+ resolution. The display wall system is optimized for use in a 24/7 mission critical environment such as the broadcast industry. A built-in second lamp makes the cubes 100% reliable it is this reliability and outstanding picture quality and ease of use that make it a perfect choice for a broadcast application.

Additionally, Barco have supplied three cDR+80-DL cubes for the Reuters newsroom. This enables the TV journalists to see all the incoming and outgoing feeds as they are happening. This area also acts as a backdrop when Reuters do pieces to camera for its Consumer and Financial TV products.
As with the fDR the 80" display wall system integrates DLP™ technology with SXGA+ resolution.
