Barco demonstrates exciting array of display solutions at NAB 2005

Atlanta, GA – NAB 2005 will see Barco further extending its range of display solutions with the OverView fDR+70-DL, a front accessible rear-projection system with the latest DLPTM technology and SXGA+ resolution. Barco will also show its enhanced iPresent backdrop solution with the Encore show controller and the distributed version of the iStudio monitoring solution. This demonstrates Barco’s continuing development of innovative products for broadcast applications. These products will be shown from April 18-21, 2005 at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) trade show and conference in Las Vegas.

Barco will launch the OverView fDR+70-DL, a front-accessible rear-projection system with the high contrast DLPTM technology and SXGA+ resolution (1400 x 1050). The high-resolution projection system creates a superior broadcast friendly environment. A built-in second lamp makes you rely for 100% on the availability of your display wall. Outstanding picture quality, reliability and ease of use are the results.

Also showcased will be the iPresent, a complete backdrop solution that consists of specifically adapted rear-projection modules combined with the high performance Encore show controller. Capable of showing a multitude of video and graphical windows, Barco’s iPresent produces smooth transitions from one display wall layout into another. The rear-projection modules support 3200K color temperature to match with the studio lightning and offers wide viewing angles for maximal flexibility of camera positions. The Encore show controller is the most advanced video processing and presentation controller, providing source selection, windowing features, seamless switching, video effects end integrated control for professional video presentations. “The iPresent allows broadcasters to present information to their viewers in a truly interactive environment and in real time instead of a virtual setting that requires a great deal of preparation,” states Jim Durant, Market Manager Broadcast, for Barco Control Rooms, “The iPresent allows a broadcaster to relay information to the viewer with a more realistic appeal which will ultimately be more effective in delivering the information.”

In addition, Barco will demonstrate its enhanced iStudio solution that goes beyond the multi-viewer towards facility wide monitoring. iStudio allows distribution of sources on multiple screens and offers ultimate reliability, redundancy, serviceability and compatibility for broadcast and distribution. It consists of a high-quality display with rear-screen projection, a graphic controller, and Web-based operating software. One projection module is capable of simultaneously displaying multiple analog and digital video, embedded audio and computer images. Two or more modules can be combined into a huge display wall to monitor hundreds of signals. iStudio acts as a single point of control and includes advanced warning capabilities.

Barco is located in the South Hall’s lower level, booth number SL 1937 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
