Barco and Genetec cooperate on technical integration for control room solutions
Orlando, FL – Barco and Genetec announced today that they have signed an agreement to co-operate on technical integration and joint marketing. Genetec has agreed to develop specialized plug-in modules which may be added to its Omnicast platform to provide its users seamless, integrated control of Barco’s networked visualization solutions. These plug-in modules will be jointly marketed by both companies. The integration will be demonstrated at Barco’s booth #323 at ASIS 2005 in Orlando Sept. 12-14.
The agreement will especially benefit end users within advanced control room environments such as emergency operating centers and multi-agency control rooms, as well as those with large amounts of simultaneous video streams.The plug-ins allow the simple and intuitive Genetec Omnicast user interface to control the layouts and source switching on Barco’s visualization solutions. The Genetec Omnicast interface can control and manage the content that needs to be shared across multiple visualization subsystems provided by Barco from projectors to display walls.
“This integrated platform lowers integration and management complexity for a pure IP solution from source to specialized visualization with no analog conversions,” said Carl Peeters, President Barco Control Rooms.
