Barco introduces Networked Broadcast Monitoring System for facility wide monitoring
Kuurne, Belgium – Barco launches its new Networked Broadcast Monitoring System that allows high-quality, low latency distribution of video sources and metadata over an IP network towards multiple screens, even in different control rooms, and offers ultimate flexibility for broadcast and distribution monitoring.
Barco’s Networked Broadcast Monitoring System enables the operator to monitor the broadcast process and visualize the video content in real-time from anywhere in the facility.This new solution consists of high-quality displays (rear-screen projection modules or LCD panels), the new NG System hardware and the Networked Broadcast Monitoring Suite software package. The NG System hardware platform comprises a rack-mountable chassis, featuring redundant power supplies and integrated shelf-management module, and is equipped with hot-swappable auto-sensing input boards supporting both standard and high definition video feeds. One rear-screen projection module is capable of simultaneously displaying multiple analog and digital video feeds together with related metadata, audio metering information and computer applications. Two or more modules can be combined into a huge display wall to monitor hundreds of signals. Barco’s new Networked Broadcast Monitoring System provides the reliability, redundancy, serviceability and compatibility required to fulfill all real-time monitoring needs within the complete broadcast facility.
The broadcaster’s total investment for the monitoring system will decrease thanks to a reduced number of inputs needed on the monitoring system itself. The distributed architecture of the NG System allows the broadcaster to save on the total investments needed for monitoring within the facility by significantly reducing the required router capacity and monitoring inputs.
At the same time, the Networked Broadcast Monitoring System’s extended metadata monitoring and alarming capabilities enable proactive monitoring by exception, resulting in increased operational efficiency and reduced downtime.
