Barco's iSTUDIO featuring in-picture audio metering
At the NAB 2000 Barco's iSTUDIO has been introduced as the most convenient and accurate solution to monitor up to 30 video windows, simultaneously. With Chromatec's in-picture audio metering, iSTUDIO now functions as the SINGLE POINT REFERENCE to monitor all audio, video and any view associated information real-time.
Today, the graphical control unit HYDRA is capable to combine all source types commonly required by the industry. These include composite, s-video and SDI video on PAL, SECAM, and NTSC in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio. Any view associated information such as computer data, clocks, animated logos, counters and source identifications can be monitored.
Each image can be upscaled to the full output resolution ranging from SVGA up to UXG. HYDRA offers the possibility of monitoring embedded audio for 30 video channels (SDI) or up to 112 external audio channels. Main features include on-screen peak meters, phase and loudness meters as well as full customization of bar size, orientation, position and colors. All popular scales and ballistics may be selected.
Operating the system couldn't be more flexible! The user-friendly software gives the operator full control over each windowing position, size and content of the sources displayed. The user interface runs in a standard web-browser and controls multiple connected graphical control units from any PC linked to the LAN. Layouts can easily be configured, stored, retrieved and switched - it is just a matter of seconds.
NEW on show! HYDRA connects to any display device currently available. At the Barco booth, the iSTUDIO concept is demonstrated on a 50" plasma display (WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution), as well as on rear-projection modules. Compared to a traditional monitor wall, plasma displays are ideal for outside-broadcast vans since they are compact, light, they consume little energy and produce little heat.
