BARCO brings the World of Digital Projection into Broadcast Television Facilities
Las Vegas, NAB 2000, April 10th 2000. As broadcast facilities continue to become larger and more complex, a growing number of signals from a variety of sources needs to be controlled... The NAB launch of Barco’s Studio will prove to be the most intelligent and integrated investment for timely and accurate monitoring, within the same space and with the same number of operators.
In addition, the Studio integrates all source types commonly required by the industry. These include composite and SDI video on PAL, SECAM, and NTSC in 4x3 and 16x9 formats, computer data, clocks, animated logos, and counters over dual tally displays, source identifications, and audio level meters.
Equipped with a graphical control unit Hydra, all sources are faithfully reproduced, with no definition loss. Direct control of the router allows the user to select video recorders, control devices, program flows, satellites, cameras and RGB signals (PC or Mac) with a resolution up to 1280 x 1024 pixels. Each image can be upscaled to the full output resolution ranging from XGA or SXGA up to UXGA.
Operating the system couldn’t be more flexible. The user-friendly software gives the user full control over each windowing position, aspect ratio and content of the sources and can be accessed from any PC that is linked to the studio’s LAN. The user interface runs in a standard web browser and controls all connected graphical control units. Defined layouts can easily be saved, retrieved and published - it is just a matter of seconds.
