BARCO provides Control Room systems for American Satellite-TV service provider DIRECTV
iStudio contract with a total value of 3.7 million USD confirms leading position of Barco Control Rooms
Kuurne, April 27, 2001 - Barco Projection Systems, world leader in large screen visualization, announces that its business unit Barco Control Rooms, has sold 45 BARCO display solutions and 45 control systems to DIRECTV, Inc. The contract has a total value of 3.7 million USD. DIRECTV, USA’s leading Digital Satellite-TV service provider, offers its clients more than 225 channels of entertainment and information programming.
BARCO’s iStudio solution will allow the DIRECTV broadcast center to monitor a higher density of video images within a fixed physical space. In this way, the DIRECTV controllers will be able to monitor up to 1,252 video channels and 2,520 audio channels
