Barco Control Rooms Introduces New Software Solution for iSTUDIO AT IBC 2002

BARCO introduces iSTUDIO 2.0 software for improved user interface, enhanced integration, and multi-language support

Kuurne, Belgium – September XX, 2002 – Barco Control Rooms announced today that it will unveil its new iSTUDIO 2.0 Software at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, September 13 – 17, 2002. Barco introduced its iSTUDIO solution at NAB 2000 as the monitoring solution for broadcast television facilities to control a large number of video, audio and any related computer data simultaneously. With world-wide recognition, Barco’s iSTUDIO has become one of the fastest growing products within Barco Control Rooms.

BARCO’s iSTUDIO system combines a high-quality, rear-screen projection unit, a graphical controller, dynamic programmability and the new web-based operating software into one single module that displays a total of up to 30 video sources. The new iSTUDIO 2.0 software offers improved user interface and functionality. The graphical user interface (GUI) is wall-oriented rather than controller/module-oriented - which means more flexibility and a better overview for each operator. The user interface is more visually attractive and includes user authentication. iSTUDIO 2.0 is based on the SOAP & Web Services standards, allowing easy integration with external control systems. The iSTUDIO 2.0 software also features multi-language capabilities for each individual operator, fully supports Asian character sets, and is based on a 3-Tier Architecture: operating distributed, high- performance, and with built-in redundancy for overall efficiency.

In addition, Barco will show its dual lamp system and front access to the projection unit. A built-in second lamp makes you rely for 100% on the availability of your display wall. Barco will also show its HD-SDI input capabilities. iSTUDIO integrates Dolby 5.1 monitoring and in-picture surround audio metering in cooperation with Chromatec.
