At IBC Barco Control Rooms will demonstrate new features to iStudio, its all-in-one solution for Managed Monitoring
The first 3-panel UXGA projection display, the new DLP Projection Series for broadcast and video production and Integrated Streaming Video Input Modules offer superior performance and reliability to broadcasters.
IBC, Amsterdam, September 2003 – At IBC, Barco Control Rooms will demonstrate its 3-panel UXGA projection displays, its new DLP Projection Series for broadcast and video production and the Integrated Streaming Video Input Modules as new additions to its existing iStudio portfolio. Barco is exhibiting at the IBC exhibition, taking place at the Amsterdam RAI from 12 to 16 September, Hall 1 Booth 524.
Barco’s iSTUDIO is currently the most advanced all-in-one solution for managed monitoring. It consists of a high-quality display with rear-screen projection, the Hydra graphic controller, and Web-based operating software. Over the last months, Barco Control Rooms has successfully completed iSTUDIO projects for Sahara Newsroom (India), Channel 4 (UK), CNN (US), TF1 (France), Astra (Luxemburg), CBS (US), EMC (Taiwan) and is setting the standard in a number of digitization projects in terrestrial digital broadcasting, e.g. Tokyo (NTV, TBS), Osaka (MBS, KTV, TVO) and Nagoya (NBN, CTV, THK).
At IBC, Barco Control Rooms will introduce the HYDRA Universal Multi Video Insertion Unit series which has new options and features to offer more flexibility and a cost-conscious solution: the HYDRA Compact, the Quad SDI, Quad Analog and Streaming Video Input Modules. The integrated Streaming Video Input Modules make the i-Studio a unique solution for monitoring compressed video transmission in that they eliminate the need for external decoders. Barco’s HYDRA gives unique possibilities to control up to 60 analog or digital inputs on one single display simultaneously. HYDRA is operated via a standard web browser and features advanced warnings and alarms. One PC can control numerous networked units that jointly display hundreds of signals. The new Hydra Compact has a 4 rack unit chassis allowing up to 36 Video inputs displayed on one screen using the new Quad SDI and Analog Video input modules. In addition to these modules, Barco is introducing a Streaming MPEG Video Input module capable of decoding up to 4 MPEG-2/4 video streams on one module.
Barco Control Rooms will also demonstrate its OverView cPU67-DL, the industry’s only 3-Panel LCD UXGA projection display. The OverView cPU67-DL is a high resolution display for high information density featuring unequaled color representation and a redundant lamp system.
Next to this, Barco also introduces its new OVERVIEW D series, Barco DLP Projection Series for broadcast and video production. Featuring Barco’s proprietary “Optical Dimming” and “Dynamic Feedback” technology, the OVERVIEW D series projection module allows constant optimization of brightness and contrast performance while maintaining excellent color uniformity. Further important features of Barco’s DLP Projection Series are built-in redundancy (dual lamp) and low Mean Time To Repair.
