Barco’s and Telindus’ Digital Streaming Video Surveillance Solutions Showcased at ITU World Telecom, 2003 in Geneva
ITU World Telecom, Geneva 11 October 2003 - Continuing to provide and enable industry-leading solutions for Access & Surveillance applications, Barco and Telindus today announced that they will be presenting demonstrations of their digital streaming video products on the Telindus stand (Belgian Pavilion, Stand 5050.001) at ITU World Telecom in Geneva from October 12-18. Telindus and Barco’s joint demonstrations at ITU Telecom World 2003 coincide with the announcement of their selection as technology partner by the City of Mechelen in Belgium for the development of an integrated DSL and surveillance solution. Both companies will repeat their joint demonstrations at the 30th International Telindus Symposium, Thursday October 30th 2003, Brussels Expo, Belgium.
Showcased in live demonstrations, both companies will present their network-centric visualization solution for streaming media monitoring. Barco Control Rooms’ iSurveillance Integrated Display Solution provides the security CCTV community with an integrated visualization platform that can serve both legacy analog and digital video networks (e.g. Gig E Networks). Featured on the stand is Barco’s OverView visualization system for 24/7 mission-critical applications and its digital display controller receiving IP-based digital video streams. Telindus will visualize three of its core development activities: access solutions, networked digital surveillance and control system integration. A Telindus broadband DSL access network will be laid out and a customized management application will demonstrate DSL video management capabilities on a live network. Cellstack’s(*) Centauri video hub will provide high quality video transport, camera selection and video replay under control from the Cellstack operator software.(*Cellstack is a Telindus Group company)
Barco’s iSurveillance Integrated Streaming Video Display Solution may be used in all operational control centers, including large Collaborative Environments and Individual Workstations, to integrate the display of information from various different sources and formats. Barco’s iSurveillance is designed to provide a real-time collaborative work experience for monitoring, response dispatching/coordination, access/flow control, recording and overall systems control for 24/7 operations. The solution enhances all operation centers because it provides a large overview display that facilitates collaborative actions across multiple operators.
