Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council
Case study
Monitoring Wigan: once Barco, always Barco.
The representatives of Wigan Council felt a surge of pride when visiting the 2005 IFSEC security industry exhibition. On approaching the Barco stand, they saw the big screens proclaiming 'installations in London, Paris and … Wigan'. The inclusion of Wigan among these metropolitans was more than justified. In 2001, the north-west borough was one of the UK's first local authorities to purchase rear-projection screens for their control room. After a strict selection procedure, they chose Barco.
When its control room needed a thorough makeover in 2006, Wigan's Council resolutely turned to Barco again. The quality, flexibility and ease-of-use of Barco's visualization solution, plus the great working relationship had convinced Wigan of once Barco, always Barco.
