MEDIA Salles, in cooperation with Barco, hosts second edition of the Digitraining Plus seminar: "New technologies for European Cinemas".
Kuurne, Belgium. March 21st, 2005. Barco Digital Cinema is proud to announce that it will host the second edition of the MEDIA Salles seminar "DigiTraining Plus: New Technologies for European Cinemas", from 6-10 April 2005 in Belgium (Kuurne).
MEDIA Salles, an organization supported by the European Union's MEDIA Programme and the Italian Government, which has as aim to foster the theatrical distribution of the European film, is organizing the seminar "DigiTraining Plus: New Technologies for European Cinemas" at Barco’s Kuurne site in Belgium. The 4-day course includes seminars and presentations on the main issues facing the cinema industry today, and aims to provide attendees with a full overview of the economic and technical issues surrounding digital transition.The main topics of the seminar include the present state of the European market for digital screening, the definition of digital and electronic cinema, an overview of available digital content, a ‘technical requirements’ training and case studies of European companies that have rolled-out digital cinema. Two visits to cinemas in Belgium and France utilizing digital projection are also on the program. All this takes place in an interactive atmosphere that encourages discussion and information exchange between participants.
Mr Tero Koistinen, Project Manager at North Karelia P. (Finland) participated in the 2004 edition of the seminar, and further explains: “It has been useful to take part in the course; I was able to find many ideas on marketing and meet many people from the field working in other countries. I also appreciated the presentation of activities by companies already operating independently”.
