Cold and snow? The HDQ-2K40 can handle it

Since 1963, the Polish city of Opole has been celebrating the National Festival of Polish Song: a musical look-back on the best Polish songs – from classical to rock and hip-hop - of the past year. The Opole Festival is one of Poland’s two main music festivals. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, an impressive happening was organized in Opole, ‘the Capital of Polish Songs’, in March 2013 that took visitors on an unusual journey through music.

Barco partner Visualsupport set up a striking video projection mapping on the town hall. The AV expert was happy to use its two brand-new, high-brightness HDQ-2K40 projectors for the 3D mapping.

“The setting was actually quite unusual, challenging even,” said Magdalena Groblicka, director of sales and marketing at Visualsupport. “While the event took place on 21 March, the first day of spring, it was snowing quite heavily. The effect was amazing: more than a 3D, it looked like a 4D projection mapping. The new projectors were amazingly bright and didn’t suffer from the cold and snow. We’re really glad we added them to our product portfolio.”
