BARCO Enhances Presence In the Brazilian Process Control Market

KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 6 August, 1998 – BARCO Display Systems is proud to announce to have received a contract for 29 industrial color displays (ICD321) from DIGITAL, Brazil. DIGITAL will install the BARCO ICD321s in a control room of ELETROBRAS, the Brazilian electricity company, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. BARCO’s local presence in Brazil with highly skilled technical staff, was one of the main reasons for being selected for this contract.

BARCO already is an active player in a variety of markets on the South American continent, with offices in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia. With this order, BARCO strengthens even more its position in this area of the world, and breaks through in Brazilian electricity control.

DIGITAL selected BARCO’s ICD321 industrial monitors because of an exclusive pixel-orbiting feature, which minimizes phosphor burn-in; an ambient light control function, which automatically adapts the monitor’s brightness, and the very low power consumption. In addition, BARCO will provide local support and training.

BARCO’s new generation of ICD321 displays with a resolution of 1600 x 1200, is available in desktop, industrial and panel-mount version for console integration. The displays are ideal in every industrial environment, whether landbased, mobile or offshore. Each version has the appropriate approvals for vibration, humidity and temperature.
