Barco launches 30-inch rugged display for mobile ground control stations
KORTRIJK, Belgium, 4 September 2009 – Visualization specialist Barco is proud to announce the addition of a new 30-inch wide-screen display to its family of rugged HD displays The high-resolution HD-30 is the largest ergonomically efficient single-operator display on the defense market today and it is qualified for the ground control station environment.
“With the development of the rugged HD-30, we are aligning with the visualization architecture of the future ground control station,” commented Peter Pauwels, Product and Program Director of Barco's defense business unit. “The defense community values the display's large screen size and high resolution, making it the most efficient and ergonomic single-operator display solution for the tightly confined spaces within the shelterized mobile ground control stations.”With remarkably bright and crisp graphics and video, the HD-30 provides WQXGA (2560x1600) resolution, allowing operators to perform accurate mission planning and present digital maps in their native format. The HD-30's fast response time allows fast-moving images to be reproduced with vivid accuracy, while the display's wide viewing angle offers optimum comfort for collaborative use by multiple viewers.
The HD-30 is the first 30-inch flat panel display to offer a touch screen interface. Using the highly accurate NextWindow touch screen technology, the HD-30 enables users to interact via finger tips, gloves or stylus. Barco's HD-30 is fully MIL-qualified in terms of vibration, shock and EMI/EMC to withstand the harsh environmental and operational conditions within a mobile shelter. The HD-30 smoothly interfaces with other Barco products, such as Barco's rugged computing and video imaging solutions.
Barco will showcase the HD-30 at this year's DSEI 2009 exhibition (September 8 - 11 in Excel, London) at booth 1435 and at AUSA 2009 exhibition (October 5 – 7 in Washington D.C., USA), at booth 433. Two HD-30 displays will be integrated into a dual-head rugged console driven by a single Barco's Display Processing Module (DPM) to demonstrate the advanced visualization architecture of a state of the art ground control station.
Barco's HD-30 display is immediately available for sales and distribution.
