Case study
BAE Systems selected Barco's DM-1118 and DM-1131 display systems and Altium 4000 rugged computers to be incorporated into the Terrier armored Combat Engineering Vehicle (CEV) of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
For this program, BAE Systems chose Barco's 7" DM-1118 Display Module and 12" DM-1131 Display Module. The DM-1118 can display a wide range of camera and thermal images. Camera images can be overlaid with text On-Screen Display and full dynamic graphics overlay from the optional Symbol Generator. Barco's DM-1131 unites a Panel Module (PM-1131) and a Video Control Module (VCM-1101) into a single ruggedized metal unit. The rugged metal housing has been tested for applications in the most extreme environments.
The Terrier vehicles are also equipped with Barco's Altium 4000 multi-functional rugged computer. Altium 4000 bundles modularity, connectivity and performance into a MIL-tailored computing solution for the vehicle's BITE (Built-In Test Equipment) and HUMS (Health and Usage Monitoring System) data and handbook viewer. The unit's flexible design offers customization options, with room for functional expansion and technology upgrades.
