BARCO Announces 100:1 Dimming Solution for its 18'' and 20'' Rugged Flat Panels
LE BOURGET, 19 June, 2000 -- At this year's Eurosatory exhibition, BARCO Display Systems introduces an advanced dimming solution, offering an extended 100:1 dimming ratio for its 18'' and 20'' rugged flat panel displays.
In order to offer the market an advanced dimming range solution, BARCO has redesigned its backlight driver electronics and software. The in-house manufactured circuitry now offers a 100:1 dimming ratio, which provides the advantage of a blacker background for lower ambient light conditions. BARCO's FD246/251 and RFD246/251 (18'' and 20'') rugged flat panels, will be standard equipped with this extended dimming feature.Previously, the 18'' and 20'' LCDs only had a backlight dimming ratio of 2:1. Now, superior contrast is achieved, particularly under low ambient light conditions.
