Barco receives 10 million dollar follow-on order from Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions
Barco continues to supply 28-inch flat panel main displays for the upgrade of 20 FAA en-route centers
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 31 August 2004 – Barco has received a 10 million dollar follow-on order from Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions (LMTSS), Rockville, MD, USA, continuing a successful contract for the delivery of ISISTM 28-inch main displays for the Console Reconfiguration and MDM Replacement Program (CRMR). The program involves the replacement of approximately 1500 aging Sony DDM displays in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) en-route centers across the US. Barco’s prompt deliveries in the program have supported LMTSS in completing the FAA program milestones ahead of schedule.
Barco was selected by LMTSS in August 2002 after the ISISTM was accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to replace the Sony DDM CRT display. To date, 14 Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) sites are operating with approximately 900 ISIS displays. The remaining ARTCC upgrade waterfall schedule will continue through 2004 and concludes in 2005.
LMTSS chose Barco’s ISISTM for its ease of integration into the existing controller consoles, low lifetime maintenance costs, high-quality, high-resolution LCD panel and enhanced user comfort.
