Barco wins important maintenance contract in Chinese ATC market
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 2 May 2005 – Barco has signed an all inclusive maintenance contract with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Barco will service all ISIS and Tower Control Displays (TCD) in the ATC centers of Beijing, Shanghai and Ghuangzhou for the next 3 years, starting from April 2005. The maintenance agreement fits into the CAAC’s NESACC (Northern, Eastern and Southern Area Control Centers) program, which comprises the implementation of central Air Traffic Control facilities in the above-mentioned locations. The contract, with a value of over 1 Million Euros, is an important exponent of Barco’s growth in the Chinese air traffic management market. It also proves that, more than ever, cost-effective service and support have become essential for the successful performance of an ATC system during its operational life cycle.
Within the scope of the contract, Barco will provide the CAAC with preventive maintenance of all ISIS and TCD displays both in the ATC Centers and the airport towers of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Barco will take the full responsibility of its equipment with an all-inclusive 24/7 on-site support and maintenance service. The contract covers all repair needs for the next three years. On-site spare parts as well as extensive training courses are also provided for. The Air Traffic Management Bureau of the CAAC enjoys all of these services and maintenance at a fixed annual fee..
