BARCO Introduces ALTIUM 3000
LONDON, UK - At this year's DSEi Exhibition BARCO introduces ALTIUM 3000, its modular rugged portable computer for use in extreme environmental conditions. The completely waterproof computer, standard equipped with a 12.1" touch screen, combines modularity, connectivity and performance into a MIL-tailored visualization solution, for use in portable and on-board configurations.
BarcoView's ALTIUM 3000 can be used in handheld, portable and on-board configurations (vehicles and helicopters). The low-weight rugged portable computer is equipped with a user-friendly HMI, featuring twelve user-definable function buttons, touch screen, backlit keyboard (optional) and a wide range of operational controls (including alarms, voice control and monitoring LEDS).Target applications of Barco's ALTIUM 3000 include battlefield management, vehicle management, situational awareness, communications control, navigation and mapping.ALTIUM 3000's TIME (Technology Insertion Modules for Evolution) approach allows for easy replacement of the processing module in order to keep it up-to-date with future technological developments. The modular concept of ALTIUM 3000 allows for project-specific customization and configuration. The ALTIUM 3000 features spare slots to insert standard (PCMCIA or PC 104/104+) cards or custom boards. For even higher functionality, two chassis versions of the ALTIUM 3000 rugged portable are available. The chassis with increased depth features extra capacity to integrate CD-ROM, DVD, floppy drive or custom-designed boards. An integrated power and thermal management system greatly increases the autonomy of the ALTIUM rugged computer, whereas the hot-swappable batteries guarantee uninterrupted performance.Kick-off customer programs have already been set up in France, Spain and Asia.
