BARCO Launches Multi-Head Control for the BARCO VECTOR® Vetronics Display System
LONDON, UK - BarcoView has developed a Multi-Head Control Box for its BARCO VECTOR® flat panel display system. Barco's Multi-Head Control features integrated input switching capabilities, video processing, computing and graphic overlay. Up to four panels can be connected to a single control box and offer a complete visualization solution.
The split design of the existing BARCO VECTOR® range of display systems, designed for observation and visualization on board armored vehicles, combines a Panel Module (7", 10" or 12" display) with a Video Control Module (VCM). BARCO VECTOR® combines video camera input with standard text On-Screen Display and graphics overlay created by a powerful Symbol Generator. In the new Multi-Head configuration, the VCM is replaced by a Control Box, which offers the same functionality, but allows the connection of multiple displays. With this Control Box, up to four Panel Modules can be controlled. Three Panels offer complete functionality (including On-Screen Display and Symbol Generator), whereas the other one features analog input for video image display. Up to eight camera systems and three RGB sources can be connected to offer a complete visualization solution for commander, driver and observer.Barco's Multi-Head Control Box facilitates overall management of priorities, functionality, communication routing, video and RGB routing. The sealed Control Box, with integrated switching and processing capabilities, allows for easy integration and drastically reduces cabling in the vehicle cockpit. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), located in Munich, Germany, has already integrated the BARCO VECTOR® Multi-Head into the Panzerschnellbrücke 2 / Bruglegger MLC 70.To customize the HMI inter of the BARCO VECTOR® Multi-Head display system, the ACTEV HMI Toolbox for Multi-Head will be introduced in Q2 2002.
