BARCO Awarded Multi-Million USD Contract for ASTROS II System
LONDON, UK - BarcoView has been awarded a multi-million USD contract from Avibras Aerospacial SA, Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. BarcoView will supply rugged, user-configurable VISTA 1000 compact consoles (formerly called CONAN), Terminal Input Devices (10.4" TID 126 rugged LCD displays) and an Integrated Logistics Support package, in support of the ASTROS II System.
Avibras Aerospacial will integrate BarcoView's visualization solutions into the ASTROS II system. The system is equipped with dual VISTA 1000 working positions, which start up at -20°C. The TID 126 rugged LCD displays will be used as touch input device for ASTROS.BarcoView has been selected by Avibras as the supplier of their visualization solutions because of the unique complete package offering, containing both the visualization and calculation electronics needed for the ASTROS II system.VISTA 1000 is BarcoView's modular, user-configurable flat panel-based rugged compact console. It consists of an integrated enclosed Display Head, Computing Enclosure and Operator Desk. VISTA 1000 offers a qualified console with a pre-selected set of computing cards and mass storage devices. Customers can select their preferred flat panel and graphics controllers from BARCO's full range, and configure the operator desk for their application.BarcoView's TID 126 rugged LCD display incorporates a user-programmable Pentium microprocessor. The display can be either configured as an X-terminal or used as a Thin Client for network-centric applications. The TID 126 features an intelligent HMI and can optionally be equipped with push buttons on the front panel and a Touch Screen.
