EUROCONTROL ESCAPE simulation system, France
Case study
Within the scope of the ERIS program (EATM Reference Industry-based ATM Simulation and Trials Platform), EUROCONTROL selected Barco’s OSYRIS Arrival Manager for integration into its ESCAPE simulator system.
EUROCONTROL opted for OSYRIS because it is an operationally proven Arrival Manager with an open system architecture allowing for easy integration into existing systems and individual extensions for specific requirements. Besides the OSYRIS software, the EEC also made use of Barco’s development capacity for the integration of OSYRIS into ESCAPE (EUROCONTROL Simulation Capability And Platform for Experimentation) and for the configuration of the simulations for the airports. The resultant system will be used for pre-operational tests and validation at major airports in Europe.
