FAA Console Reconfiguration and Main Display Monitor Replacement, USA
Case study
In has been selected by Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions (LMTSS), Rockville, MD, USA, to deliver ISIS 28-inch main displays for the Console Reconfiguration and MDM Replacement Program (CRMR).
The program involves the replacement of approximately 1500 aging Sony DDM displays in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) en-route centers across the US. Barco’s prompt deliveries in the program have supported LMTSS in completing the FAA program milestones ahead of schedule. By the end of 2005, all operational displays were installed and in service.
Barco’s ISIS was chosen by LMTSS because of its high optical quality, functional compatibility with the Sony DDM displays and enhanced user comfort.
Barco’s ISIS flat panel main display was the obvious choice because of its high image quality, low life cycle cost and compatibility with the worldwide de facto ATC standard 20” x 20” square format at 2048 x 2048 resolution. Moreover, the four MegaPixel ISIS flat panel main display can easily be integrated into both new and existing controller working positions because of its small mechanical form factor.
