Barco Digital Cinema positions Key Executives for Global Expansion

Kuurne, Belgium – October 12th, 2004 – Following its recently announced senior sales positions in North America, Barco Digital Cinema this week announces three further international appointments. In preparation for the breakthrough in the global acceptance of Digital Cinema, Barco Digital Cinema appointed two more regional Business Development Managers in Asia and created the position of Business Development Manager for System Business based at the company headquarters in Belgium.

As Director Strategic Business Development in Singapore, Vivian Sim Li Lian will be identifying new sales opportunities in the cinema and alternative content market in Pan-Asia. Vivian will be reporting to Sjoerd De Clerck, General Manager Barco Digital Cinema and to Ng Tian Hock, Managing Director Barco South East Asia.

Vivan has more than 10 years of experience in film distribution and exhibition. Prior to joining Barco, she gained extensive industry experience at Golden Harvest Entertainment Co. Ltd, a large Asian Cinema Group engaged in a wide range of activities from film production, film distribution and cinema exhibition. Most recently, Vivan was the Senior VP Strategic Management & Business Development, leading the evaluation of digitizing the Golden Harvest cinema exhibition businesses in Pan-Asian territories.

Simultaneously, Barco Digital Cinema has announced the appointment of Toru Koiso as Business Development Manager in Japan. Toru has over 25 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Hewlett-Packard Japan, Ltd. With his previous experience of expanding business in Japan, Toru brings the requisite skills to secure Barco Digital Cinema’s local growth. Toru will report to Stéphane Deckers, International Sales Manager, and to Masayoshi Fukatsu, Representative Director, Barco Japan.

In the third of its announcements, Glenn Wastyn is appointed Business Development Manager, with a brief to develop systems solutions for Digital Cinema within Multiplexes.

Glenn’s drive and ambition are the perfect compliment to the experience he brings in developing new business. He recently concluded an MBA Degree at the top Belgian Business School and as a case study, successfully implemented new projects within the Barco Group. Glenn reports to Sjoerd De Clerck.
