Barco Chosen for Colossal Entertainment and Retail Development in the Heart of Hollywood

TrizecHahn Development Corporation Chooses Barco LED Technology for its $567 Million Urban Entertainment and Retail Complex

BARCO, the world leader in large screen video and graphics display technology, announced that it has sold a custom 6’ x 85’ curved Daylight Display LED video wall to TrizecHahn Development Corporation. Barco’s DLite 10 LED wall will be installed on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Hollywood & Highland is being developed by TrizecHahn Development Corporation, the development division of TrizecHahn Corporation. TrizecHahn is one of the largest publicly traded real estate companies in North America, with ownership interests in over 110 properties in the United States, Canada and Europe. Hollywood & Highland® will include unique shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, studio broadcast facilities, and cinemas. In addition, TrizecHahn is building the world's only live broadcast theatre to be the permanent home for the Academy Awards® Ceremonies beginning in March 2002. High profile tenants in the new development will include world renowned restaurateur Wolfgang Puck, who will operate the Governor’s Ballroom, which is designed to be the preeminent special event facility in Los Angeles.

The BARCO LED video wall will be used for public addressing messages, on-premise advertising and off-premise advertising. Installation of the Barco LED wall will be complete by July 1, 2001. The LED wall will be able to uniquely display nine video windows and one data background simultaneously.

BARCO’s DLite Series Daylight Display Systems
BARCO’s DLite 7 features an impressive light output of 5,000 uniform NITs and extremely wide viewing angles. BARCO’s innovative Dual Pixel Technology offers a visual resolution of 7mm, allowing for a smoother picture, shorter viewing distance and great performance. BARCO has included proprietary technologies to deliver perfect video and graphics performance over the entire display regardless of size, shape or resolution. The modular concept of the system guarantees optimal flexibility, seamless pictures and easy maintenance of the modules from the back and the front of the display. BARCO’s DLite 7 features built-in intelligence that enables auto-configuration and allows hot swapping of tiles without interrupting the display of the pictures.
