The Soccer Circus is the first interactive football temple dedicated to the world’s most popular sport. Visitors from ages seven to seventy put their agility and precision to the test and compete in teams against each other in an exhilarating target-knockdown. As visualization is an integral part of the visitor’s experience, the Soccer Circus required projection systems that met stringent demands of quality, cost-effectiveness and reliability.
Barco developed twenty-four 1080p HD LCN-42 panels for the Soccer Circus’s lounge and bar. Through its picture-in-picture functionality, visitors can keep track of team scores and follow what’s going on in the other sections of the Circus at the same time. The LCN-42 is a sleek, 42” display that comes with adjustable color temperature, high contrast and a native 1080p HD resolution that makes it extremely apt to render any type of image and video content.
In the Soccer Circus’s game bays, where visitors partake in challenges of skill and endurance, motion and pressure sensors send information to eighteen compact iQ G500 projectors. This XGA+ projector is a cost-effective, tried and tested solution for applications where color saturation is important. The iQ G500’s 5000 ANSI lumens output adds further panache to its performance, by projecting bright images even in the game bay’s luminous environment.
The soccer arena, where teams slug it out with each other in a penalty competition that involves shooting down targets with footballs, is driven by two powerful SXGA+ RLM R6+ projectors. With a light output of 6,000 ANSI lumens designed to operate under strong light conditions, the RLM R6+ projects rich, brilliant images in the arena’s bright space. No extra input boards or expensive modules are required to display up four sources on-screen simultaneously, in any configuration of two data and two video sources. The RLM always delivers.
