Seamless science at the Hachioji Dome
Case study
Tokyo's Hachioji Science Dome provides children with a hands-on way to discover the world of science, engineering and astronomy. For its 21m wide dome on the first floor, the Science Dome contracted Konica Minolta Planetarium and Barco to install a hemispherical visualization system consisting of six high-resolution LCoS projectors. Barco's display system not only provides the contrast, color and pixel real estate needed to convincingly show various types of astronomical content, but also equipped its projectors with technology that creates one seamless, homogenous image across the dome.
