BARCO Introduces IMAGEDESK® Radiology Display System
CHICAGO, IL, 26 November, 2000 -- At this year's RSNA exhibition, BARCO introduces IMAGEDESK®, a range of fully staged and calibrated display systems for use in radiology reading environments. BARCO's IMAGEDESK® family bundles functionality and filmless perfection into a truly plug- and play-system. With IMAGEDESK®, system integrators benefit from BARCO's expertise in medical imaging, and realize substantial integration and logistics savings, while bringing added value to their end-users.
Bundled with the integrator's software, IMAGEDESK® brings the radiology community a new softcopy reading environment. Integrators only have to plug in power and Ethernet cables before loading their application software. The multi-functional display system is equipped with a motorized lifting system, which allows users to adjust the height of the images to their preferred reading position. IMAGEDESK® features front access to all connectors (USB hub) and offers an ergonomic solution with no distracting cabling. The display system further has a built-in audio system for report playback and PACS audio streams. To facilitate working in a dark reading room, the system also has desk illumination, which does not reflect into the screen.
BARCO's IMAGEDESK® also guarantees digital image quality and greyscale accuracy. The TrueGrey® and TrueWhite® circuitry, Luminance Uniformity Correction and digital WAVE technology of BARCO's greyscale displays ensure image consistency and greyscale stability over time and across display heads. BARCO's patented medical imaging board technology offers high-speed image load, exceptional video quality and flicker-free images.
For optimum image conformance and consistency, BARCO's IMAGEDESK® radiology display system also includes the MEDICAL® Pro Quality Assurance software. With this package, the quality and consistency of all components of the radiology display system can be automatically checked and corrected if the system's results differ from the reference values.
