Barco Launches MIVD 1218, 18” Medical Interlaced Video Display Module
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM - Barco is pleased to introduce the MIVD 1218, its new 18" grayscale LCD flat panel display module for interventional radiology. The MIVD 1218 offers a plug and play replacement for legacy and current CRT displays in X-Ray control and operating rooms. The 1 MegaPixel display module’s high brightness (>500 Cd/m²), ergonomics and artifact-free images make the MIVD 1218 the perfect solution for this application.
Flat panel displays are quickly becoming the standard in modalities such as interventional radiology and cardio-vascular imaging. Barco’s MIVD 1218, an 18" grayscale flat panel display module with 1 MegaPixel resolution, offers accurate signal conversion (including de-interlacing and frame rate conversion), a wide range of interfacing options and artifact-free image fidelity. The compact, space-saving display module offers a form-fit-function replacement for the monochrome CRT displays currently used on all major modality X-ray systems. The MIVD 1218 is compatible with any type of video input signal (analog/digital, composite video/non-composite video, interlaced/non-interlaced… ). The display module converts an existing system’s interlaced output to a proper signal to drive the LCD panel, thereby eliminating the up scan converter traditionally needed for flicker-free images. Static and moving images are converted by Barco’s sophisticated image motion detection system. For perfect image representation, Barco includes automatic adjustment functions. These features correct the input signal for optimum display on screen in any environment, and synchronize the dot and sample clocks. With these automatic adjustment functions, new installations are up and running in no time. The display module is equipped with a protective front glass that allows for easy cleaning and has an anti-reflective coating for perfect image rendering. Furthermore, the MIVD 1218 features an internal medical power supply and comes with a 100 mm VESA mount interface, which allows for easy fixation to a ceiling or wall mount bracket. For desktop use in control or reading rooms, an optional tilt- and swivel base is available. The MIVD 1218 further features LUT correction, which allows setting the display’s transfer curve to standards like DICOM or CRT emulation. The MIVD 1218 has pre-stored Look-Up-Tables (LUT) allowing users to select their preferred display transfer curve, without having to recalculate current video output LUTs. User-programmable LUTs can also be downloaded into the MIVD 1218.
