Maurice Engelen and Barco Fuse Art and Technology for a Spectacular Performance at InfoComm 2010

At this year's InfoComm in Las Vegas, Nevada, Barco joined with world-renowned DJ and pop artist, Maurice Engelen, to showcase a dynamic fusion of art, music, dance, and technology to portray the unlimited possibilities for creativity using Barco products. Visitors were treated to a uniquely interactive and visually spectacular performance choreographed by Engelen, featuring the talents of Inja Van Gastel, performing artist; Evelien Van Cauwenberge of the Royal Opera in Belgium; Kirby Detaille of the Royal Ballet, Flanders; and Tylaine Van den Broeck, concert pianist.

"Barco is very open to an artist's vision of creativity, and has worked closely with me to provide the best possible technologies and a wide portfolio of innovative products that inspire my imagination," said Engelen. The artist developed the show centered around a combination of Barco's creative, lighting, LED and projection solutions to produce a multi-faceted performance in which artists interacted or mirrored the visuals projected on a large screen.

Paul Matthijs, VP Video & Lighting Solutions, Out of Home Media, summed up Barco's commitment to the performing artist community, "We help artists unleash their creativity, and see Maurice as an artist whose work is intimately interwoven with technology. As an innovator, we strive to enable his and other artists' visions with our products."
