BARCO’s DLite LED Walls are the Main Attraction at Cleveland’s Renovated Playhouse Square Center
Playhouse Square, Cleveland’s “Home for the Performing Arts”, purchases three BARCO LED video walls for exciting entertainment and informative programming
BARCO, the world leader in large screen video and graphics display technology, announced it has sold two 18’ x 16’ Daylight Display LED video walls, which include sponsor panels, to the Playhouse Square Foundation. In addition, the Foundation purchased one DLite 3’ x 100’ LED ticker display. The video walls are located in the Playhouse Square Center Theater District, home to five extraordinary, restored theaters and five performing art companies. The Center is the second largest performing arts complex in the country and attracts over one million patrons each year to a variety of arts and entertainment events. One of the 18’ x 16’ BARCO LED video walls will be mounted onto the Wyndham Hotel, the other 18’ x 16’ wall and the 3’ x 100’ wall will be mounted onto the Hanna Building, both buildings are in the heart of the theater district. A Grand Opening with the new BARCO LED walls, featuring a VH-1 Save the Music fund-raiser, will be announced soon and will include live performances of today’s hottest music industry stars.
After conducting extensive research on LED technology over the past several years, the Playhouse Foundation made the decision to purchase the BARCO DLite 7 and DLite 14, LED-technology video walls. Tim Birch, Director of Sales for the Playhouse Foundation stated: “After speaking with several other LED manufactures and comparing the various video walls, we decided the BARCO is the best LED product on the market. We will be operating these boards not only in the evenings, but also during daylight hours, and sometimes in extreme weather conditions. We needed a board with outstanding brightness and high resolution, not to mention a board that could handle hot summers and cold, snowy winters. There is not another LED product on the market that compares to the BARCO DLite 7 and DLite 14.”
Steve Simard, Market Manager for BARCO’s Daylight Display Systems Division, stated, “Playhouse Square is not only providing outstanding performing arts to the people of Cleveland, but will now provide them with an exciting technology and service. The programming and advertising Playhouse Square will offer to the public is not only interesting, but informative. The BARCO DLite 7 video walls will also provide outstanding close-ups and high-resolution video during live performances. The visitors to Playhouse Square are going to be thrilled with the images they see on this state-of-the-art technology.”
