IMAX Tycho Brahe planetarium
Case study
IMAX Tycho Brahe Planetarium, Denmark's most advanced centre for popularizing astronomy and space research, has cooperated with Barco for a world’s first: a 1000 m² full stereoscopic projection on its impressive 24 meter large dome. As a prime contractor, Barco partnered with 7th Sense for the Image generating hard- and software, with nWave for spectacular 3D stereoscopic content and with Infitec for advanced stereoscopic eye-wear.
Since 11 January, the audience has been immersed in new breathtaking stereoscopic experiences, as well as views of the night sky, company presentations and IMAX films.
This 2-channel GALAXY 12+ system displaying 1920 x 1080 HDTV images on a spherical screen in the Tycho Brahe Space Theatre is a unique achievement for Barco as it is the first application with passive stereo based on the Infitec+ technology in the market of 3D theatres.
